This Recipe is: Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy-free
Prep Time: 10-15 minutes (excluding marinating time)
Cooking Time: 35-40 minutes
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup shoyu (soy sauce)
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tablespoon ginger, peeled and minced
- 2 tablespoons brown rice vinegar (or another type)
- 1-2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or other sweetener such as Agave)
- 1 block of tofu (16 ounces) cut into 1/4-inch slabs
Directions:
- Place tofu between two cutting boards and let press for 15-20 minutes until some of the water releases from the tofu.
- Combine shoyu, water, ginger, garlic and maple syrup and marinate the tofu for 25-30 minutes or let sit overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place tofu into a baking pan or casserole dish and cook uncovered for 35-40 minutes.
- Garnish with minced spring onions.
